Fresh off the heels of Prop. 911’s passage last week on Election Day, Pike County Commissioners spent a portion of Monday’s meeting discussing how the new 9/16 of one per cent sales tax will be implemented and administered.
According to Eastern District County Commissioner Justin Sheppard, the Missouri Department of Revenue has informed various county officials that the sales tax will not be collected until January 1, 2019 at the earliest.
A call to the Missouri Department of Revenue’s spokesperson Ann Marie Moy was not returned as of press time.
