Wanda L. Braxdale

Wanda L. Braxdale, 85, of Blue Springs, passed away, Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice House.  Services were  held  at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31.  Burial was  in Greenton Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation, Kansas City Chapter.

Wanda was born April 17, 1928 in Pike County to Thomas E. and Elizabeth (White) Cannon.  She worked for Lake City Ammunition Plant for a number of years until she retired in 1973.           She is survived by a brother, Robert W. Cannon and wife Jo Ann of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Braxdale and Jennifer S. Braxdale-Ruch; seven great-grandchildren; a long time dear friend, Ann Mollenhour of Blue Springs; and her pet turtle of 57 years, “Tutter.”  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell F. Braxdale, in 1980 and a son, Walter A. Braxdale, in 1979.
