Ida Stewart Robinson
Ida Stewart Robinson, 76, departed this life due to natural causes on Aug. 6, 2013 in Brookview Nursing Home located in Maryland Heights.Her remains were cremated per her request.
A private memorial Service was held, Monday, Aug. 12 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church located in Maryland Heights.
She was born April, 19, 1937 in Elsberry to Theodore Blair, deceased in 1991, and Luddenia johnson Blair, deceased 1980.
She was united in holy matrimony to William “Bill” Stewart of Eolia, to this union three sons were born: Michael Stewart [Liz], Steven Stewart, and Sidney Stewart.
She was educated in public schools of St. Louis and Pike County. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Louisiana in 1953.
Additional studies were from local colleges in St. Louis in accounting. She was employed for many years at Kamp Toggs Co., a children’s clothing manufacturing firm located in Clarksville and later worked for Angelica Corporation, a national woman’s uniform apparel company, in the catalogue and design division as administrative assitant to the president and vice president, where she retired after over 25 years.
She leaves to mourn in addition to her three sons, grandchildren; Sean Stewart, Meagan Stewart and Patrick Stewart; sibling, Roy Blair, Louella Childs, Margaret Ann Berry, and Phillip E. Blair.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas T. Blair, and a half sister, Theodosia Davis Bailey.
Ida was especially creative in fashion apparel, which was often exhibited in her appearance and special effect. A “great hat” was always a standard of the day.
Her love of a good book, and a great flower garden was her special past-time.
Ida volunteered at the local Catholic church, when possible, and often offered adivce and assistance to women in hardship as well.
