2013 Fair Highlights – Pike County 4-H, FFA Clover Kid shows successful

On Friday, July 26 the 4-H and FFA Cat and Dog Show were held in the livestock barn at the fair.

This was the 21st year for the Cat Show.  The Best of Show was awarded to Michael Maier, trophy sponsor was Tom Backer Accounting.  Reserve Best of Show was presented to Payton Teasley.

The following are the class results: Any Other Variety – Adult Cat: Michael Maier, 1 blue; Payton Teasley,1 blue; Amanda Wilkinson, 1 blue; and Katie Wilkinson, 1 blue.

This was the 20th year for the 4-H and FFA Dog Show.  Best of Show was presented to Rebecca Griffith, trophy sponsor was Jeff and Fay Miller. Reserve Best of Show was Cody Wilkinson. Champion Obedience was presented to Rebecca Griffith and Cody Wilkinson was presented Reserve Champion Obedience.  Champion Showmanship was given to Katie Wilkinson and Reserve Champion Showmanship awarded to Cody Wilkinson.  Champion Grooming was presented to Rebecca Griffith and Reserve Champion Grooming went to Shaylen Martin.

The following are class results: Grooming, Pup Up to 18 Months of Age, Rebecca Griffith, 1 blue. Grooming,  Dog Over 18 Months: Rebecca Griffith, 1 blue; Shaylen Martin, 1 blue; Amanda Wilkinson, 1 blue; Katie Wilkinson, 1 red  and Cody Wilkinson, 1 red. Obedience, Rebecca Griffith, 1 blue, 1 red; Shaylen Martin, 1 red; Cody Wilkinson, 1 blue; Katie Wilkinson, 1 blue; Amanda Wilkinson, 1 blue.  Showmanship Class, Shaylen Martin, 1 blue; Katie Wilkinson, 1 blue; Cody Wilkinson, 1 blue; and Amanda Wilkinson, 1 blue.

Also held on July 26 was the Clover Kids Pet Show. Gabriel Maier showed his cat; Kahri Wisecarver showed her dog and rabbit; Abigail Haas showed her dog; Jack Lawrence showed his dog; Kiersi Wisecarver showed her rabbits; and Alyssa Massman showed her dog. All of the exhibitors received participation ribbons.
