Local teen dies in Highway 61 wreck

A 15-year-old Frankford girl lost her life as the result of a two-vehicle wreck that happened Saturday afternoon south of Frankford.

According to a report completed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occured minutes before 12:30 p.m. on Highway 61 at Missouri Route RA.

Brendan D. Weber, 18, of Bowling Green, driving a 1993 Ford Taurus, was attempting to cross Highway 61 over the southbound lane to turn onto Route RA. As he was crossing, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Martin E. Snyder, 65, of Cecilia, Ky., was traveling southbound and hit the passenger’s side of Weber’s car, the report continued.

A passenger in Weber’s car, Hannah L. Buchanan, 15, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, where she was pronounced dead 15 minutes after midnight Sunday.

Snyder and two passengers in his vehicle were treated for minor to moderate injuries and released.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.Hannah B WEB
