PCMH Clinics to provide “Patient Navigators”
Eastern Missouri Health Services, rural health clinics operated by Pike County Memorial Hospital in cooperation collaboration with Primaris, has been awarded grant funding from health and human services.
Primaris is a leading healthcare quality improvement firm headquartered in Columbia.
The purpose of the grant is to train and provide “patient navigators” who will act as resource contacts for Americans who want assistance shopping for and enrolling in health insurance from the health insurance market-place.
The navigators will assist Missourians, many of whom have limited experience with health insurance and may face additional barriers to using the exchanges such as limited English skills.
The navigators including those associated with the Eastern Missouri Health Services Clinics, as well as, 10 other community partners around the state, will be led by Primaris to provide unbiased, free assistance to Missourians eligible to participate in the health insurance marketplace.
The goal of the navigators will be to find the best plan for qualified individuals that will meet their needs and budget.
Qualified health insurance plans provided for by the Accountable Care Act will become available to Missourians beginning Oct. 1 for those needing assistance, you can contact: Eastern Missouri Health Services Louisiana location at 573-754-4584; or the Bowling Green location at 573-324-5300
