Haw Creek Neighbors meet
The Haw Creek Friendly Neighbors Club met on Sept. 4. Hostess Dorothy McCarthy served meatloaf, scallop potatoes, drinks. The members brought their assigned vegetable, salad, and dessert, which made a bountiful feast.
The hostess gave the noon meal blessing.
At 1 p.m. Brenda Cook called the meeting to order with the pledges.
Secretary Myrna Schuette’s devotion “Two Boxes,” was read. She also read the minutes. Cook gave the treasury report.
The 14 members sang the “Missouri Walsh,” President Harry Truman’s favorite song.
Roll call was a school day memory or class picture.
Reports: Lola Jennings cards sent, Pauline Gibbs and Jennings white elephant sale, and Cook Frankford park day.
Club Collect recited and meeting adjourned. Dorothy Adams asked each member to state something wonderful about God’s creation with amazing answers. Her game was “Labor Day Words.” Winners were Dorothy Flowers, Pam Hendrelll,
Brenda Cook, and Diane Miller.
Others attending: Nannie Elder, Frankie Epperson, Maxine Macaulay, Roxie McMillen, and Louise Miller.
Myrna Schuette will be hostess for the Oct. 2 meeting.
