Heritage Fest this Saturday – Event promises family fun

Head to the Bowling Green town square this Saturday for a variety of family fun activities and events. Brought to you by the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and Chair Tara Massman, the event will kick off at 9 a.m. by the Courthouse.

 

*Join First Methodist Church for their free pancake breakfast before the festivities begin on the square.

 

*Heritage Day opening ceremonies will begin on the Pike County Courthouse lawn at 9 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony by the Bowling Green VFW.

 

*A 5K fun run/walk, graciously sponsored by the Twin Pike Family YMCA, will begin immediately following the opening ceremonies.

*The community parade will begin at 10 am. No registration necessary.  Lineup at BGHS parking lot at 9 am

 

*Craft and artisan exhibitors and food vendors will open at 9 a.m.

 

*The Car and Truck Show, Vintage Tractor show, quilt display, live entertainment, and children’s games will also start at 9 am.

 

* There will also be a “Lil Mr. and Lil Miss Heritage Fest” contest under the tent on the East side of the square.  Registration will be the day of the event, starting at 11 a.m.

 

*A Bounce house for the kids will be open from noon until 3 p.m.

 

*The Michael Feldman Group will  entertain crowds from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 

*The kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull will kick off at 1 p.m.
