Circus coming to town Friday
The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce announced last month that the world famous Carson & Barnes Circus will be coming to Bowling Green this Friday, Sept. 13, to be held in conjunction with the Champ Clark Heritage Festival, taking place Saturday.
The event will be hosted on the Clancy Boyer property on Sharry Drive and Champ Clark Drive. Police will be in place to aid with parking and driving through the area.
All this year Carson & Barnes Circus is celebrating their 77th consecutive year touring the United States. This group has travelled North America for four generations with their traditional American Big Top Circuses.
Carson & Barnes owner Barbara Miller-Byrd is the third generation of her family to run the circus. Her daughters, Traci and Kristin, who also travel with the show, plan to be the fourth generation to own and operate the entertainment company.
The organization prides themselves on bringing family entertainment, including clowns, acrobats, performing animals, and more, to all parts of the country. Each year they search for the best performers from around the world and present them with existing acts to produce the “World’s Biggest Big Top Show”.
Carson & Barnes invites the public to come see as the giant circus tent is erected and the animals are unloaded the morning of the event at 9 a.m.
Performances for Friday evening are scheduled at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
