Local ladies enjoy shopping tour
A host of women from the Pike County area recently enjoyed a day of shopping at they were shuttled around Bowling Green and the countryside touring a variety of businesses on Friday, Sept. 6.
The tour was sponsored by Cindy Adkinson and Anna Moore, owners of The Kountry Store, and Evelyn Graham, Hearstrings owner.
Thirty area women gathered Friday morning and began their day of shopping at 10 Bowling Green merchants; they also visited four Amish stores. Many of the shops visited graciously offered special discounts to the ladies.
Participating businesses included Blackwell Cottage, The Shed, DiDi & GiGi’s, Bouquet Florist and Boutique, Spencer Creek, The Garden Gate, Prairie’s Edge, and Bankhead’s.
Following lunch, the group was shuttled to the Amish community, where they visited the Buggy Shop and General Store, two bakeries, and the Notions store.
As time ran out, the group travelled back to Bowling Green and the Kountry Store, where a drawing was done for a fall floral arrangement, made by Adkinson.
Prizes, provided by Graham, were given throughout the day.

Tour guides were Barb Jennings and Mary Jo Rose. Chad Walden served as Chauffeur.
