Softball pulls out close win over LA
The Lady Cats and Louisiana passed the lead back and forth six times on Sunday at Louisiana, but in the end Lady Cats pulled out a 6-5 win over their rivals.
Madeline Kinkade led Lady Cats’ offensive threat, as she got on base four times in the game. She singled in the third inning and tripled in the seventh inning to start the come from behind rally.
Star pitcher Madison Ingram worked out of five tough situations for Lady Cats. The sophomore pitched nine innings and allowed five earned runs on nine hits. She faced her trickiest spot in the ninth inning. She also had 16 strikeouts.
In the top of the first, Lady Cats grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Michala Schroeder got things going for Lady Cats with a single.
One Lady Cat baserunner came all the way around to score in the fourth, seventh, and ninth. In the fourth, Bowling Green scored on an RBI double by Destiny Lindsay bringing home Bixby.
