The Lady Cats varsity softball team staked their claim at third place during the North Callaway tournament this weekend.
Lady Cats snub Father Tolton, 8-1
The Lady Cats captured a blowout 8-1 win in six innings at Auxvasse. The Bowling Green girls brought home two runs in the second inning, and matched that run total in the fourth. In the second, the Lady Cats scored on a two-run double by Josie Williamson, scoring Destiny Lindsay and Paige Moore.
Bowling Green falls to South Callaway
A two run total just wasn’t enough to get past South Callaway, as the Lady Cats lost 5-2 in six innings. The bottom of the first saw Lady Cats take an early lead, 1-0. Michala Schroeder singled, bringing home Bixby after a triple by Breanna got things started.
Lady Cats top New Bloomfield, 7-0
BGHS’s Lady Cats took down New Bloomfield 7-0 on Saturday after slamming their opponent with an impressive five runs in the second inning. Madeline Kinkade was hot from the plate for Lady Cats; she doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Thursday, Sept. 19, the Lady Cats will go toe-to-toe against North Callaway in an away game.
