Bowling Green’s Lady Cats varsity softball team dropped an EMO Conference game to North Callaway Lady Birds last Thursday. The final score was 1-0.
Stats prove the game was a pitchers duel, in which the NC pitcher struck out 13 batters in her no-hitter Thursday night.
BGHS’s top pitcher Madison Ingram pitched well herself, recording eight North Callaway strikeouts herself.
Unfortunately, the Bowling Green team did not get any run support as the Lady Cats fell short in the bottom half of the seventh
North Callaway came up to bat in the seventh inning, 0-0 and compiled a lead off single, a passed ball to move the runner over, a bunt single, and then with one out the Lady Birds singled up to middle to win the game.
This put the Lady Cats at 4-1 in the EMO conference and 11-4 overall.
Bowling Green’s diamond girls faced off against Elsberry last night (Sept. 24). They will play at Community R-1 tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 26.
