Softball falls to Elsberry
The Lady Cats took a hard fall to the visiting Elsberry girls. Stats reflect the Bowling Green girls were off their game as a final score of 7-2 came in seven innings.
“Anything and everything that could of gone wrong went wrong that game,” noted head Lady Cats softball coach Dean Streed. “To have nine errors, no earned runs given up, its hard to expect to come close to a win.”
The majority of the batting wins went to the opposition. Lady Cat Shelby Grummel earned one RBI. Jessica Schindler and Michala Scroeder each earned two QABs.
“This game was played without starting short stop Breanna Bixby. She hyper-extended her elbow last Friday and was not able to play…” Streed explained. “…We have been in the situation before, but this time there wasn’t anyone to step up during the game.”
The hometown girls committed nine errors on the game.
“…After that game, we talked as a team and really emphasized ‘short term amnesia’ learn to forget and understand the tools are there and we just needed to execute,” said Streed. “We look to give our conference teams a different look when we play them in the Conference tournament this Saturday.”
