Lady Cats obliterate Montgomery County
Bowling Green’s Lady Cats pulled a big 12-2 win Tuesday against Montgomery County.
After the rumor mill churned anticipation of a heated game, the BGHS girls came out ready for battle.
“Montgomery County went well, there was a lot of hype about their freshman pitcher, but we came out ready to go putting pressure on them offensively and executed on the bases,” said head coach Dean Streed.
The Lady Cats were on fire, from both the plate and the mound.
BGHS led in hits, with Jessica Schindler, Michala Schroeder, and Harli Lindsay all getting two. Lindsay also got three walks; Breanna Bixby and Paige Moore both got two. Madison Ingram, Schroeder, and Schindler each earned two RBIs. The Bowling Green girls also led in QABs. Ingram, the impressive sophomore pitcher, threw 14 strikeouts.
“It all works better when we can get on base and try to execute on the base paths,” Streed added. “We also played good defense… so when we stick to our philosophy of pitching and playing defense it allows us to stay in the game.”
