Volleyball falls to Wright City in two

The evening of Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Lady Cats faced off against Wright City in an away game.

“I had high hopes after the Troy tournament and a very face-paced practice on Monday,” said head coach Erin VanDyke. “We started the first game strong and stayed with them for two or three servers.”

After the girls faltered in some serve receive, they fell behind and lost 25-9.

“The second game was high intensity, like the first,” the coach added. “We were just not able to complete plays and made little mistakes like net violations and serving errors to give away easy points.”

The Lady Cats lost the second game 25-7.  There were seven kills for the night.  Kaycee Sutton earned three with Tori Nichols, Evan Scherder, Ella Klott and Shiann Truelove with one each.  Evan Scherder had two blocks for points.
