Lady Cats celebrate volleyball victory over Montgomery Co.

The BGHS Lady Cats varsity volleyball squad pulled a close victory in two sets over Montgomery County Friday evening.

“We had an exciting win at Montgomery on Friday night,” head coach Erin VanDyke said. “The girls played a scrappy game.”

The first game came as a BG victory with a final score of 25-21. The second was 25-23.

“Our defense did very well getting to the ball and staying clear of the net on tough plays,” VanDyke noted. “Though our offense is still less efficient than I would like it to be, the girls were able to keep the ball going.”

The Lady Cats had a total of three kills for the night: one from returning injured-reserve player Ella Klott and two from Shiann Truelove, both seniors.

Bowling Green serving looked good Friday night. The Lady Cats had eight aces; five of which came from junior from Sarah Stumbaugh.  Alyssa Sloan, Kirsten White, and Ella Klott had one each.

“We are looking forward to our game tonight against Centralia,” VanDyke said Monday morning.
