Chaume Smoker, 80, of Louisiana, passed away on Oct. 18, 2013 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 21 at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. John Bateman officiated. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Chaume was born on April 24, 1933 in Rochester, Ind. to Lester and Nettie Ray Crabbs. She married Wayne Smoker on April 24, 1951 in Indiana and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Trower of Mexico, and Susan Beauchamp and her husband Larry, of Annada; two sons, Michael Smoker and Matthew Smoker both of Louisiana, eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Charone Savage of Macy, Ind. and two brothers, Larry Crabbs of Godfrey, Ill., and Jerry Crabbs, of the state of Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three great-grandchildren.
Chaume Smoker was a teacher at Head Start, a substitute teacher in Louisiana, and she also gave piano lessons for many years. She loved teaching the children, loved her family and friends, and had a special love for Jesus Christ.
Pallbearers were Tom Beauchamp, Ted Beauchamp, Tyler Beauchamp, Jason Henderson, Adam Henderson, and Aaron Henderson.
