On Tuesday, Oct. 22 the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop C responded to the call of a two-vehicle accident in Lincoln County.
Available reports indicate the wreck occured at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday morning on US Highway 61 at Route B, near Eolia.
The MSHP reported that Doris Farmer, 84, of Elsberry was attempting to cross US 61 from Route B south of Eolia in her 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis when her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 28-year old Gene Fox of Bowling Green.
Farmer was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County EMS personnel.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were totaled and were towed from the scene.
