Margaret C. Hollocher

Mrs. Margaret C. Hollocher, 85, of Troy, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.

She was born on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1927 in St. Louis, the daughter of Fred and Margaret (Isensee) Street.

Margaret attended the local schools and later graduated from Silex High School.

On Jan. 21, 1951, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kenneth Hollocher. The happy couple was blessed with six children: one son, Kenneth, and five daughters, Christine, Patricia, Beverly, Linda, and Sallie.

Caring for her husband and children was her first priority. She was an active member of Whiteside Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher for many years.

She enjoyed gardening, working on crafts, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Silex chapter, for 60 years.

Margaret was also a member of the Woman’s Missionary Union, Whiteside Baptist Church, and the Aeolian Club. She was a loving, and caring friend to many and will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew her.

Margaret is survived by her children, Kenneth and wife Rita Hollocher of Eolia; Christine and husband David Parker of Troy; Patricia and husband David Hudson of Almhult, Sweden; Beverly and husband James McCloud of Troy; Linda and husband Douglas Johnson of Centralia; Sallie and husband George Cress of Wright City; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Kenneth Hollocher; and one brother, Richard Street.

A funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 24 at Whiteside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Patrick officiating. Interment was in Mill Creek Cemetery.
