4-H shooters participate in state

Several Pike County 4-H Shooting Sports Members participated in the recent state 4-H competitions.

Shotgun Competition – Trap Singles and Trap Doubles was held on Aug. 24 at Linn Creek. Two shotgun members participated; Senior – Justin Sambo shot an 84/100 in doubles and 97/100 in singles. Senior – Thomas Niemeyer shot 84/100 in doubles and 96/100 in singles with their exceptional good scores neither member placed.

State 4-H Shooting Sports competition was held on Sept. 21 at Prairie Grove in Columbia. Several members participated in Small bore, Archery, Air Rifle BB and Shotgun: Junior Air Rifle BB – Katelyn Lee; Junior Small bore – Raymond Bird; Intermediate Compound Archery – Tommy Grote and Andrew Biggs; Junior Compound Archery – Enoch Brown; Shotgun Skeet 100 Senior – Thomas Niemeyer fourth place; Shotgun Skeet 50 Senior – Jordan Shaw fourth place.
