Where’s the Snowflake?

Last month’s turkey was in the Teen Conference picture on page 2. The winners were: Laura Gray, Abbie Moore, and Katy Horner. Hidden somewhere in this month’s newsletter is a snowflake. Be one of the first three people to call the extension office at 573-324-5464 with its location and win a prize.

Youth Council Spreads Christmas Cheer

Youth Council will be meeting on Dec. 8, at 4 p.m. at the Bowling Green Wal-Mart parking lot by the horse shed. The group will be shopping for our adopt-a-family and then will go to the home of Ann Glass to enjoy snacks and wrap the presents that are purchased. Please bring scissors, tape and your favorite snack.

Pike-Ralls Officer Training

Officer training will be held for Pike and Ralls County 4-H officers on Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Pike County Courthouse. Training will include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Reporter.

Volunteer Leader Orientation

All 4-H volunteers must participate in one session of the 4-H Volunteer Orientation. This is a one-time only requirement for volunteers. You can also do the on-line option for training. Save the date of Feb. 6, 2014. Volunteer leader orientation will be held. Watch for more information in the January newsletter.

Family Fun Day

Ralls County 4-H is hosting a Fun Night on Jan. 12, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., at Scotties Fun Spot, Quincy, Ill. All Pike County 4-H families are invited to join them that evening. Additional information will be sent out at a later date.

Club Corner

Pleasant Workers met on Nov. 11 at the Frankford Community Center. Members answered the roll call question “What are you thankful for?” The song “Little Green Frog” was sung by the club. Members and adults signed up for 4-H committees. Each member made Christmas cards to send to veterans. Our Christmas meeting will include a pizza party, caroling, and cookies.
