The confidence booster the Lady Cats needed is just what they got Friday night as they faced off against the visiting Wright City girls. Even with a handful of seasoned players out for injury recovery or due to illness, the Bowling Green girls easily topped their opponent.

Head coach Bryan Keim was pleased with the result of the contest, calling it a “great conference win.”

“It was nice to bounce back after our rough game against California last week,” he said. “[I’m] very proud of how the girls practiced all week leading up to this game.”

With less than a couple of weeks before Palymra’s annual Tony Lenzini tournament, where the Lady Cats won the championship title last year, games like this one allow the girls to perfect their techniques and experiment with new plays and approaches.

Keim said he’s “excited about the future” of his team, as he should be with this positive momentum.

The Lady Cats took a strong lead early in the game, leading Wright City 17-6 for the first quarter, from there the girls kept the ball rolling, allowing Wright City only two points to their 12.

Returning from the half, Bowling Green kicked it into high gear, sinking an impressive 22 points to Wright City’s two. The fourth quarter proved as more of a practice for the Lady Cats in which they gained two points.

Senior Kylie Conrow led the Lady Cats in scoring with 16 points. Harli Lindsay followed with 14; Tara Schuckenbrock was next on the leader board with 11 points.

The Lady Cats grabbed 32 total rebounds.
