Bobcats hammer Wright City
The Bobcats offered the visiting Wright City a slamming defeat in the form of a 68-34 contest coming back from Christmas break.
The Jan. 3 game was on Bobcat turf and came as the confidence booster Bowling Green needed after their vacation from the court.
“After having a few weeks off, I was glad to see us have an outstanding start,” said head coach Greg Williams.
With a heavy 20-11 point lead after the first quarter, the Bobcats set a high tempo for the rest of the game, despite a slower second quarter.
“We lost focus in the second quarter, but regained our composure and cruised to a 30 point victory,” Williams noted.
Gaining an additional 25 points coming back from the half, Wright City could do little to slow down the Bobcat locomotive.
“It appears Corey Brown has found his three-point shooting prowess,” the coach credited. “This is a positive sign for us as we move toward district play.”
Brown lead the ‘Cats in scoring, sinking 18 points. Malik McPike followed with 16 and Cory Buchanan added 14.
The Bobcats claimed a total of 27 rebounds.
