Lady Cats suffer loss against Centralia’s tight defense
With an 18-9 lead after the first quarter, many counted Centralia down and out during their contest Thursday, Jan. 9. Despite this powerful lead, a strong Centralia defense spelled a loss (41-30) for the Lady Cats.
“We started off with the best quarter of basketball we played all season,” said head coach Bryan Keim. “Once Centralia packed in their zone we really struggled to score the ball.”
Harli Lindsay played an awesome offensive game, putting 19 points on the board for the Lady Cats.
Bowling Green sank 80 percent of their free throw attempts. They grabbed 32 total rebounds and made five blocks.
“We have to be able to make shots against teams that pack it in,” the coach noted. ‘It’s something that we will continue to work on so teams down the road can’t beat us with their zone.”
