A victory wasn’t in the Bobcats’ cards as they travelled to Fulton Friday evening. Following a big win over Centralia Thursday, the boys in red and black had to head back down Highway 54 with a 69-48 loss over their heads.

“We came off of a solid win on Thursday,” noted head coach Greg Williams. “We were awful on Friday.  It was just one of those nights.  We turned it over too much.”

Fulton took a strong 20-9 lead over the Bobcats in the first quarter, leaving a huge gap for Bowling Green to make up. The Bobcats wouldn’t have a leading quarter until the fourth, where they scored 21 points to Fulton’s eight.

Most of the team’s heavy hitters seemed off their shooting game Friday. Dakken Morris led the ‘Cats in points, sinking eight. Andrew Martinson followed on his tail with seven.

Bowling Green made 60 percent of their free throws, grabbed 27 total rebounds, and had six blocks.

The Bobcats are heading into rival territory Thursday, Jan. 16 to face the Louisiana Bulldogs. The Times will feature that story in next week’s edition.
