“Big Macs” arrive at BGHS – Students, faculty excited for new program

If you have a chance, find your way to the reconfigured BGHS Business Department computer lab 15.  It’s the site of a Big Mac invasion of the first order.  No, it’s not two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun, red and yellow boxed Big Mac sandwiches.   It’s 33 state-of-the-art student-facilitated newly-installed Apple computers, iMacs.  This innovation, though, owes its success to “BIG MAC”, Bobcat style.

“B”:  Bobcat feedback provided the impetus to begin rethinking the BGHS computer lab.  Our graduates provided important feedback in terms of how their high school experience contributed to their success and what experience holes challenged them.  They praised their high school technology opportunity in terms of course selection, but noticed that their lack of training on Apple computers made them play catch-up post high school, and we all know that catch-up education is expensive.  Consequently, this feedback started the BGHS business department to thinking.
