Lady Cats defeat Clark County for 3rd
Following a victory over Monroe City and a loss to Highland, the Lady Cats found themselves pitted against Clark County in the battle for third place in the Palmyra tournament. A 38-33 score meant the Lady Cats were headed home with the title.
“A little disappointed in the fact that we lost the semi-final round game,” admitted Coach Bryan Keim. “As the number two seed, you’re expected to be playing in the championship game, but Highland had our number.”
Despite a disappointing loss against Highland, Keim credited the Lady Cats with the resilience to power on towards victory.
“I’m really proud of how the girls bounced back playing Clark County the very next night to pull out the third place finish,” he said. “We were a little short handed during the Palmyra tournament, but everyone stepped up.”
At the conclusion of a powerful first half, the Bowling Green girls led 17-12. They maintained this momentum to the end.
“We had great contributions from all seven girls,” Keim added. “They all bring something different to the table which is good. We’re excited to host our tournament this week and look forward to playing some great competition.”
