Bowling Green Invitational – Lady Cats take First Place
For those Lady Cat basketball fans looking for excitement, they needed look no further than the Lady Cats’ contest against Clopton Saturday night.
“All the credit goes to everyone wearing a Bowling Green Lady Bobcat uniform,” head coach Bryan Keim said proudly. “These girls have really worked hard to get themselves where they are now. We still have lots of things to continue to work on, but we are definitely headed in the right direction. Overall, I have to be excited about winning the game.”
With a back-and-forth affair in the fourth quarter, Tara Schuckenbrock sank a free throw to give the Lady Cats a single point advantage with seconds left on the clock. Lady Cat defense kicked into high gear as Clopton hustled down the court. A failed lay-up at the buzzer sealed Bowling Green’s championship on their home court.
“We were night and day different in the first half compared to the second half though,” Keim noted. “In the first half we did a great job of limiting shots at the rim and second chance opportunities.”
