Scoring your 1000th point is one of the proudest accomplishments a basketball player can reach. BGHS senior Corey Brown did just that last Tuesday during the Bobcat’s tournament opener against Mark Twain.
“Scoring 1000 points is a great accomplishment,” the senior said. “…I have worked very hard the past four years to get it.”
“It’s a wonderful accomplishment,” said basketball head coach Greg Williams. “Often times Corey is defended by the opponents best defensive player.”
Brown has been a leading force on the court this year and has been a top-scorer all season. Despite this knowledge and his recent milestone, the baller hasn’t grown a big head.
“It is a team sport and I couldn’t do it without my teammates,” Brown credited. “Team goals are more important and the whole team works hard everyday.”
