A Boone County man was recently arrested in connection to a vehicle theft in Eolia which occured late last month.
On the morning of Jan. 17, deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office responded to Iron Horse in Eolia, for a report of a stolen vehicle.
A 2002 4×4, 4-door F-250 truck with a black flat bed was reported stolen from the company parking lot.
Deputies reported a vehicle was found, abandoned, not far from the business. It was learned that Timothy Wayne Creech, of Ashland, had been the last known operator of the abandoned vehicle.
After learning that the suspect may be in the Columbia area, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office worked with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office in locating the stolen vehicle.
On the evening of Jan. 25, the vehicle was stopped within the city limits of Columbia. The stolen vehicle was being operated by Creech.
Creech is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a charge of tampering with a motor vehicle with a $10,000 cash only bond. Charges are pending in Pike County.
The stolen vehicle was returned to Iron Horse, Eolia.
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
