Schools seek parent feedback

At the end of February, the Bowling Green R-I School District will be sending out parent input surveys to all parents in our school.
The purpose of the Bowling Green R-I Parent Survey is to measure the perceptions, opinions and feelings of parents about the climate, environment and performance at their child’s school and the school district.
We firmly believe that how parents, students, and staff feel about the Bowling Green R-I school district influences the learning environment and relationships at the school and a positive environment and relationships maximize student learning and success.
In order to improve as a district, we need all parents’ open and honest feedback about the learning environment and relationships at their child’s school.
We encourage all parents who have children enrolled in Bowling Green R-I School District to take advantage of this opportunity to provide feedback by taking this Bowling Green R-I Parent Survey.
Four Bowling Green R-I Parent Surveys have been designed. If you are a parent with students in multiple buildings, you will be asked to take a separate survey for each student in each unique building. Surveys will be administered to parents in the following buildings:
• Frankford Elementary
• Bowling Green Elementary
• Bowling Green Middle School
• Bowling Green High School
If you have an e-mail address listed in out student information system (SISK12), you will be e-mailed the Parent Survey directly by the end of February.
If you do not have an e-mail address listed with the school district, please e-mail Darin Powell at email@example.com and I will e-mail you a link to complete the survey. In your e-mail, please include what building or buildings your children attend so I may send you the proper surveys.
If you do not have access to e-mail, please stop by the main office of the school your child attends and we will give you a paper copy of the survey. The Parent Survey will take five to 15 minutes to complete and we ask that all Parent Surveys be completed by March 14.
The results of these surveys will be used in the following ways during the 2014-2015 school year:
• Results will be shared with each building and staff to solicit their suggestions and input on the results.
• Results will be shared with the Board of Education, Parent Advisory Committee and District Leadership Team to solicit their suggestions and input on the results.
• Building and district level target areas will be identified for improvement.
• Development of building specific and district specific plans and strategies to better serve our students and school community as a result of the surveys.
We hope to make this an annual occurrence in the Spring of each year.

Please know that your input will be valued and we look forward to using the information we will gather to continue to improve the excellent educational opportunities and relationships that the students, parents and community of the Bowling Green R-I School District already enjoy.
