BG boys fall to Wellsville in fourth quarter – Free throws seal the deal

On Tuesday, Feb. 11,  Wellsville-Middletown sealed their victory with a final-minute free throw from Deondre Hall. A final score of 65-63 cost the Bobcats a W.

The Bobcats finished the first half 32-29 on the heels of a 17-4 run. Wellsville-Middletown kicked it into high gear for the final two quarters, 36 points.

When it came down to the final seconds, Bowling Green fouls put the Montgomery County boys in position to pull away from the 63-63 tie, ultimately leading to their victory.

Senior Corey Brown led the charge for the Bowling Green’s offense, scoring 17 points. Brown also contributed six rebounds and one steal.

Three-point ace Dakken Morris sank two from the line, tallying six points total.

Junior Cory Buchanan put up 14 points. He got one rebound and made two assists. Buchanan also made two steals.

Adam Holt scored five points, got two rebounds, and made one block.

Malik McPike made three points and grabbed two rebounds.

Andrew Martinson  tacked on two points. He got four rebounds and made one steal.

Austin Quarles also scored two points and got four rebounds.

Josh Early was a big contributor as well, scoring 11 points and racking up six rebounds, one steal, and two blocks.

The Bowling Green Bobcats finished the game with 34 total rebounds, three blocks, and seven steals.
