The Clarksville Station restaurant and gift shop were destroyed by fire on Tuesday, March 4 but owner Nathalie Pettus, who opened the businesses in 2004, vows she will rebuild. Clarksville Fire Chief Tommy Beauchamp said the cause could be “any number of things,” and did not want to speculate what it was. He added that no one was hurt. Beauchamp said his department was called at 1:45 a.m., and the structure was engulfed in flames upon their arrival. Pettus estimated she had about $3 million in the facility that prepares food grown on her adjacent Overlook Farm. The burned facility and Overlook Farm properties have been one of the largest employers in Clarksville in recent years with approximately 100 employees. The farm, two bed and breakfasts, and a wedding business are still in operation and not shut down because of the blaze, Pettus said. She added the restaurant’s 40 or so employees will not lose their jobs.
