Bowling Green Rotary to hold Lakefest

The Bowling Green Rotary Club will be hosting its second annual Lakefest at the Bowling Green Reservoir / Jack Floyd Memorial Lake, of Bowling Green, on Friday, June 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Lakefest includes a Barbecue, 5K run/walk, and Fishing Derby.

The Rotary Club will serve a barbecue dinner from 5 to 8 p.m.

The 5K run/walk features a scenic course on trails that run along the east and west lakes. The race will begin at 6:30 p.m. All participants will receive a T-Shirt. Trophies will be awarded to class winners. Gatorade will be provided at the finish.

The fishing derby will begin at 5 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for the first fish checked in, the largest fish checked in, and the most fish checked in. All fishing
participants will receive a Lakefest T-shirt and be entered in a drawing to win a rod and reel.

Participants should register to ensure T-Shirt availability.

The Bowling Green Rotary Club is a local community service organization of professionals in the Bowling Green, community. Rotarians strive to live up to the Rotary Motto of “Service Before Self.”

The Bowling Green Lakefest is an event hosted by the Bowling Green Rotary Club to promote community interaction, promote fitness and healthy enjoyment of our local community, and raise funds for local scholarships and service projects.

Bowling Green Rotary sponsors projects such as beautification of local parks, meals for local needy children, holiday help for needy families, as well as assisting Rotary International in its quest to end Polio.
