The City of Bowling Green recently established seven primitive campsites at the Bowling Green Conservation Area.

Each campsite includes a picnic table and barbeque pit.

The picnic tables were constructed by the Bowling Green School District in a cooperative arrangement.

In addition to the table and grill, there is also a shelter/pavilion and portable toilet nearby.

The campsites were shown as part of the System Wide Parks and Recreation Master Plan approved in 2012.

The campsites will give both local residents and tourists visiting Bowling Green the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful wooded surroundings of the over 600-acre area.

The Bowling Green Conservation Area is located on the eastern outskirts of the community. Residents are welcome to visit the area which can be accessed from the Bowling Green exit off Highway 61. Signs are in place to direct residents and visitors to the park area.

At this time there is no cost or permit required to camp. The seven camping sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
