Silex teen injured in wreck
A Silex teen sustained what are being referred to as “moderate” injuries as a result of a single-vehicle wreck in Lincoln County over the weekend.
According to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Zachary Welch, age 18, of Troy, was driving his 2006 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Frenchman Bluff Road east of Happy Hollow Lane. The report states that Welch failed to negotiate a left turn and travelled off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree.
Welch and four passengers, Brennon Bruce, Roger George, Cameron Harvey, of Silex, and Andre McKinney were all treated at St. Joseph West Hospital.
All four passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident; Welch was not.
