Lawson details Shortline Railroad: Thoroughfare serviced Bowling Green for 60 years
The Shortline Depot remains one of the few vestiges still standing today of the once prominent railway that bisected Bowling Green. The depot is now a private residence.
Some Bowling Green residents may faintly remember the Shortline Railroad which once passed through the center of town.
Long-time Bowling Green resident Ed Lawson presented a program to the Pike County Genealogical Society last week detailing the rise, boomtime, and fall of the once bustling thoroughfare which provided 60 years of service to residents all along the Mississippi River.
