Bowling Green is following in the footsteps of many other communities in hosting the city’s first ever “Movie in the Park” event Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:45 p.m.
The movie “The Lorax” will be shown in the main Bowling Green city park. Admission is free and kettle corn and soda will be available for purchase.
Bowling Green Mayor Jim Moore came up with the idea, as was announced at the most recent meeting of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce by city administrator Dan Lang.
“It’s just an opportunity for people to get together and socialize and get to know each other better in the community,” he said.
One of the aspects of the city’s master plan is to create opportunities such as this for residents to get together and socialize.
The screen will be set up near the pond at the park and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
“Bring your kids, your grand kids, and your spouses,” Lang stated.
