Read Psalm 144:1-2  1. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight;  2. my goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

God has given you a weapon that will defeat every demon in hell.

Everyone is going to be in a war of some kind until Jesus comes.  It may be physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, or personal.  Spiritual warfare is part of every Christian’s life.  If you think you’re not going to have any struggles or strife, you’re in denial.  You will never outgrow the need to wage war against the devil.  The devil is your sworn enemy.  He has a plan for your life!  His plan is for you to fail in your pursuit of living a life pleasing to God.

Since the devil has a plan for you to fail, you need to have a plan to defeat him.  God’s plan for you is bigger than the devil’s plan.  God wants you to win, and he wants the devil to lose!  That’s why he has provided five keys to ensure your victory.

I.   Focus on God.  The first key to victory is keeping your eyes on the vision of God and the provision he has made for you to win the war. Many times in the Old Testament, God told people to lift up their eyes.  When you are troubled, distressed, depressed, or perplexed, keep your eyes on him.  He is your vision.  He will see you through.

II.  Use God’s weapons.  To defeat the devil; you have to use God’s weapons, prayer and the Bible.  Spiritual weapons, not physical ones.

III.  Stand on the Word.  God has given you a third key that will defeat every demon in hell and make you a winner.  That key is the Word of God.  People who say that they can resist the devil without their Bibles and spending time in prayer are prime targets for the deceptions and devices of the devil.  The battle you’re involved in is a spiritual battle, not a natural one.  Without spiritual weapons you cannot win.  You must feed on the Word of God.

That is why I would encourage you to read your Bible. Get a Bible-reading plan and stay with it, even if it takes you two years to get through the Bible.  Be consistent.  This will make you victorious  Take the promises of the Bible and make them your lifestyle.  Then stand on those promises.

If you stand on the Word, you won’t fall for the deceptions of the devil.  If you aren’t in the Word for yourself, you won’t know what promise God has given you to stand on.

IV. Get back up when you fall.  All people fall.  Have you ever met anyone who is perfect?  You may think they’re perfect, but they’re not.  Great men get back up after they have fallen. The Bible record is full of those who fell but got back up to continue the fight of faith.  Abraham was a liar.  Moses lost his temper.  David committed adultery.  These men loved the Lord, though, and fulfilled God’s plan for their lives.

V. Keep your vision.  The fifth key to winning the war is to keep your vision.

Warfare always surrounds a miracle.  There’s a miracle on the way for you.  The devil always knows when a miracle is on the way, and he will try to stop you from receiving it.  The three Hebrew children refused to worship the image of Nebuchadnezzar and were cast into a fiery furnace. They refused to surrender during the battle.  When they were cast into the furnace, someone like Jesus showed up.  They focused on his presence rather than on the fire.

He is with you in the fire of your affliction, too.  He has promised he will never leave you or forsake you.  Lift up your eyes.  Keep your vision – “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”  (Hebrews 12:2)

He’s with you in the battle, and you will come out a winner!  Remember, the five keys God has given you to win the war are mighty.  Using them you cannot fail!
