Aldermen approve new city budget
The Bowling Green Board of Aldermen held a special meeting Thursday, Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers.
It began with a public hearing on tax rates, the water/sewer rates, and the budget to provide the public with the opportunity to offer their input on any budgetary matters. No members of the public were in attendance other than Alliance director Bo Stinnett and city fire chief Don Nacke.
Four ordinances were passed, the first one being for the city to enter into memorandum of agreement with Alliance Water Resources beginning Oct. 1 and ending Sept. 30, 2013. It was approved by Aldermen Kim Luebrecht, Mike Pugh, Kay Reading, Ed Lawson, and Kenda Flynn. Alderman Mark Bair cast the only dissenting vote.
