Ringing in the New Year

St. Clement youth recently gathered in front of the St. Clement Catholic School to ring bells.

Students at St. Clement School rang bells on Thursday, Oct. 11, to celebrate the ‘Year of Faith’ as proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI. The Catholic Church is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Second Vatican Council. This council brought about many changes in the way Catholics celebrate the liturgy, most notably the change from Latin to English. To kick off this celebration, students at St. Clement School went outside at noon to ring bells. At the same time, the church bells and the school bells rang for three minutes. Students shown from left:  Brayden Cannon, Josh Korte, Ethan Irvin, Stephen Merz, Matthew Nosbush, Camille Akers, and Austin Irvin.
