Three local youth were injured in a weekend crash in Pike County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report, Joseph W. Deters, 17, from Clarksville, was driving a Ford pickup eastbound too fast for conditions on Pike County Road 247 Sunday afternoon.

He lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the right side of the roadway and overturn. Deters, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, suffered minor injuries.

Two passengers, James P. Coleman, 16, also of Clarksville, and Austin M. Quarles, 17, of Bowling Green, both suffered minor injuries as well.

All three boys were transported to the Pike County Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The truck, which was totaled, was towed from the scene.
