Tipton earns Master’s
Pamela Tipton, of Curryville recently earned a Master’s of Science of Nursing from Walden University, with a specialization degree in Nursing Education.
Walden University celebrated the achievements of nearly 5,500 graduates representing 50 U.S. states and 49 countries, including Mrs.Tipton, at its 48th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 25, in Minneapolis, Minn. Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez, former president of Costa Rica and 1987 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, addressed the graduates as the keynote speaker.
Tipton is currently the Practical Nursing Administrator at Pike Lincoln Technical Center and works per diem in the Emergency Room at Pike County Memorial Hospital. She was invited to join the National Honor Society of Nurses (Sigma Theta Tau) maintaining a 4.0 grade point average during her Master’s program.
Tipton is currently the President of the Pike County Nurses Association, serves on the Child Fatality Board, is a member of the VFW auxiliary 5553, holds the position as a board member of the Missouri League of Nursing (MLN), and serves on the NCA credentialing team.
