PCMH thinks pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer is a dangerous disease. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, 140 women in Pike County were diagnosed with breast cancer between 1999 and 2008. Pike County Memorial Hospital (PCMH) is reminding women about the importance of breast health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Having regular screening mammograms is the best way to detect early breast cancer, as mammograms can detect more than 90 percent of breast cancers,” said Rebekka Thornton, director of radiology at PCMH.
