Monday morning, a plaque was unveiled commemorating all of the work that has been done on the Pike County Courthouse over the past ten years. Present were current Western District Commissioner Roy Sisson Jr., current Eastern District Commissioner Curt Mitchell, current Presiding Commissioner Dan Miller, and current County Clerk Bob Kirkpatrick. It was noted that former Commissioners Clark Pointer, Jack Stumbaugh, Junior Clark, and former County Clerk Jim Ford were also instrumental in implementing the work that was done. Work completed includes: a courtyard tree project, new roof, electrical renovation, renovating the entrance doors, repaving the parking lot, cleaning and tuckpointing the exterior, a new security system, and purchasing the annex for additional space. Total cost for these improvements was $652,500.
