Local missionaries return from emotional visit to Haiti

Ashley Ayers meets her “adopted” Compassion Child for the first time. Stephanie Walker looks on. The group explained each one of them has made amazing relationships with the people they met.

Last week, the missionaries from Bowling Green’s Second Baptist Church returned from their week-long trip to Haiti.

Through the Compassion Child network, which supplies impoverished children  with schooling, uniforms, and at least one meal a day, the group was able to go to a Haitian compound to work with other missionaries and local volunteers.

The mission goal of this group and the Compassion Child organization is to spread the Christian faith, and provide care for local Haitians that they may not be getting otherwise.

Second Baptist’s missionaries provided the locals with medical supplies, hygienic products, other goods such as clothing and food, as well as religious supplements.
