Middletown woman in accident

Barbara Welsch-meyer, 60, of Middle-town, sustained moderate injuries in a car wreck Sunday afternoon.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol website, Welschmeyer was travelling eastbound on Route CC, west of Hwy. 161, when she swerved her 2006 SuzukiĀ  Firenza vehicle trying to avoid hitting a deer.

The car travelled off the right side of the road, where it struck an embankment and overturned.

Welschmeyer experienced moderate injuries and was transported to the Audrain Medical Center by Montgomery County ambulance.

The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the accident.
