Pike County Retired Teachers host Region 13 meeting

The Pike County Retired School Personnel hosted the Region 13 meeting of the Missouri Retired Teachers’ Association at the Second Baptist Church in Bowling Green on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Members from units in Warren, St. Charles, and Lincoln counties joined the local unit for some food, fun, and fellowship. The presidents from each of the local units shared the latest news about their unit’s activities.

Also attending were special guests MRTA Executive Director Jim Kreider, MRTA President Mark Hargens, MRTA Vice President Jack Poston, and Tom Wales from Forrest T. Jones. Each of these gentlemen gave informative reports to those in attendance.

Barbara J. Prideaux from St. Charles was recognized as the Region 13 MRTA Distinguished Retiree of the Year. Region 13 Vice President Debi Ingram from Bowling Green presented her a certificate for this achievement.

After a delicious lunch, Cindy Lovell, the Executive Director of the Mark Twain Home and Museum, entertained those who attended with stories of her love of Mark Twain and her work on a CD honoring Mark Twain.
