Carlos Fernandez knows about the price of freedom.
He was nine years old when his family left everything they had to escape a dictator-controlled Cuba and settle for a year in Spain before making the trek to America.
That’s one reason why he’s involved in Honor Flight, which will be the topic when Fernandez serves as keynote speaker at the Louisiana Area Historical Museum banquet.
